Brief History

1. Air Force School Jorhat is a co-educational school, located in the verdant location of Air Force Station Jorhat.

2. The School was established in the year 1967 and has completed 50 years of its existence in November 2017.

3. The School is up to Senior Secondary Level, commencing from Lower Kindergarten. It is affiliated to CBSE and functions under the aegis of Indian Air Force Educational and Cultural Society, New Delhi. The school caters to the educational needs of the wards of defense personnel (especially Indian Air Force personnel) civilians residing in and around Jorhat. A high quality of teaching standard is adhered to, one that facilitates the holistic development of each student---this is done to ensure personal attention to each student.

4. The medium of instruction is English. Most classrooms are equipped with Smart Class facility to impart quality education, from LKG to XII. Other spheres are also given importance, such as, Value Education. Health Education, Environment Education, Art and Craft, Music and Dance: these inculcate various values while the pupil undertakes a course of studies prescribed by CBSE. The School has a well equipped Activity Room, Library, Laboratories, Computer Laboratory and a field for all types of Sports and games.
