ANNUAL REPORT 2019
A very good evening to everyone.
I take great pleasure in welcoming all of you on this special Occasion of our Annual Day and prize distribution function.
The Annual Report showcases the achievement & glories of our school undoubtedly, but also makes us think deeply about methods of improvement. We at Air Force School Jorhat, have always been committed to create an environment in the school which helps the young minds to blossom and provide a platform for individual thinking and holistic development of a students personality.
We set standards and goals for ourselves and strive to achieve them be it in academics, sports, discipline or leadership. Today, we hold the prize distribution ceremony to acknowledge those who have made the school proud with their brilliant efforts in the academic fields and also in the co-curricular areas.
Academics:
“The philosophy of the school classes of one generation will be the philosophy of the government in the next”.
I wish to begin with our performance on the academic front. Achieving academic excellence is at the heart of our endeavor as educators. Academic achievements reflect a demonstrated ability to perform to the best of one’s ability by developing one’s intellectual potential and skills with diligence. We are happy to share the details of the commendable performances of our students of class X & XII of the previous academic session 2018-2019
In class X, the result was 100%. Isheeta Bora secured the highest percentage. What is commendable about the outgoing class X is that, every student secured 1st division percentage. In class, XII, the result was 100% pass, with Aditi Dutta securing the highest percentage.
Sports:
“To be a great champion, you must believe you are the best. If you are not, keep on trying”.
Our students have actively participated in different sports competitions and have won medals for the school. Notable mention here is the trophy won by Team Air Force School Jorhat at Barrackpore for the most disciplined team.during the Intra Command Games held there in July.
Houses:
The students of the school are divided into four different Houses, namely Subroto, Katre, Arjan and Sekhon. Various co-curricular activities are held throughout the session, to develop a student physically, morally, socially and mentally to hone their skills in co-scholastic areas.
Teachers in service training and workshop:
“Live as if you were to die tomorrow, Learn as if you were to live forever”.
In keeping with the school’s policy of continuous upgradation of knowledge and skills, our teachers conduct in house workshops every last working day of the month. Various workshops conducted by CBSE and Indian Air Force Educational and Cultural Society, at locations around the country, are attended by teachers. This years, for the first time Air Force School Jorhat, hosted a national level workshop on Stress management during Examinations. Participants from Air Force Schools across the country attended the same.
The school magazine “Essence” is, indeed, the essence of all that takes place in the school. Students develop the power of writing, and the thrill of being a published writer is instilled through the magazine. The magazine highlights the achievements and activities of the school.
Many milestones have been achieved & many still have to be reached. We, at Air Force School Jorhat, will continue our unceasing efforts to mould the young minds into well balanced, personalities, with confidence and zeal, befitting the standards of this portal of education and to serve our nation with dedication.
I hope you will enjoy today’s programme presented by our students, directed and choreographed by our teacher’s.
Thank you.
